Shipping Terms
Important information for using VukaHustle.
VukaHustle Shipping Terms
vukahustle.com | UlulaLabs (Pty) Ltd, Registration number 2026/107064/07 | Effective date: 01 October 2026
These Shipping Terms are entered into between UlulaLabs (Pty) Ltd, trading as VukaHustle ("VukaHustle", "we", "us" or "our"), and the Merchant that accepts them for its Store. They form part of our Terms and Conditions. Words defined in the Terms and Conditions have the same meaning here.
1. Purpose and scope
These Shipping Terms govern a Store's use of VukaHustle-supported courier shipping through PUDO or The Courier Guy ("Provider Shipping"; each courier a "Provider"). They apply to all Provider Shipping arranged through VukaHustle.
Courier accounts and charges. Provider Shipping uses the Merchant's own account with the Provider. The Merchant contracts directly with the Provider and is solely and completely responsible for all courier activities and for paying all courier charges, including any additional charges, directly to the Provider. VukaHustle does not handle courier services or courier fees on behalf of Merchants, does not collect or pay courier charges, and does not add any surcharge, levy or fee for Provider Shipping.
Collection and the Merchant's own local delivery are not covered by these Shipping Terms. They remain separate options, unless another valid restriction applies.
By accepting these Shipping Terms, an authorised user of the Merchant's account accepts them on behalf of the Store. Provider Shipping is available only while the Store has accepted the current version of these Shipping Terms. When a new version takes effect, the Store must accept it before making new Provider Shipping bookings (see section 12).
2. Relationship between VukaHustle, the Merchant and the Provider
VukaHustle provides software through which a Merchant may configure, quote, select and manage supported Provider Shipping. The applicable courier is an independent service provider and performs the physical transportation. VukaHustle does not inspect parcels, verify contents or pack goods, and does not become the carrier merely because a shipment was arranged through VukaHustle.
The Merchant remains responsible for the Store's parcels, declarations, instructions and customer information, and for complying with these Shipping Terms, applicable law and the applicable Provider's conditions of carriage. Where a Provider's conditions impose stricter or additional requirements, the stricter lawful requirement applies.
3. Your responsibilities when shipping
3.1 You are responsible for what you send
You are responsible for every parcel submitted for Provider Shipping through your Store. You must ensure that:
- the contents are lawful;
- the contents are permitted by the applicable courier;
- the parcel information you provide is accurate;
- the parcel is packaged appropriately;
- addresses and contact information are accurate;
- any required declarations are truthful; and
- you comply with applicable laws and the Provider's conditions of carriage.
VukaHustle's software helps you arrange shipping. It does not inspect your parcel or verify its contents. You remain responsible for what you place into the courier network.
3.2 Parcel weight and dimensions must be accurate
You must provide the accurate packaged weight, length, width and height of each parcel, as it will actually be handed to the courier, including its packaging.
Do not enter smaller dimensions or a lower weight to obtain a cheaper shipping quote. The courier may measure or weigh the parcel itself.
If the information supplied is incorrect, the Provider may, subject to its applicable terms:
- re-rate or reclassify the parcel;
- charge additional fees;
- delay or refuse carriage;
- return the parcel;
- hold the parcel pending payment;
- charge handling, storage or rerouting costs; or
- exercise other rights available under its conditions of carriage.
The Courier Guy's published conditions provide for additional consequences where declared dimensions or weight are incorrect, and state that its own measurements may be treated as final. Any additional Provider charges that arise from incorrect information are payable by you directly to the Provider under its terms.
3.3 Packaging is your responsibility
You must package every parcel appropriately for normal courier handling, transport, sorting and delivery, taking into account:
- the nature of the goods;
- their weight and dimensions;
- reasonable handling during road transport;
- movement through depots, lockers or sorting facilities, where applicable; and
- the delivery method selected.
Fragile or vulnerable goods require appropriate protective packaging. The Courier Guy's conditions place responsibility for adequate packaging on the sender and restrict its liability where packaging is inadequate. VukaHustle does not pack your parcel and does not guarantee that packaging is adequate merely because the system allows you to create a shipment.
4. Prohibited and restricted goods
4.1 You must not send prohibited goods
You may not use Provider Shipping for goods prohibited by South African law, applicable regulations, these Shipping Terms, the applicable Provider's conditions, the selected shipping service, or any authority governing the carriage of those goods.
Prohibited and restricted categories include:
- Explosives and ammunition, including fireworks, gunpowder, igniters, firecrackers, flares and similar explosive articles.
- Weapons, including prohibited weapons and other weapons or weapon-related goods excluded by the applicable Provider.
- Compressed gases, including certain aerosols, gas cylinders, butane, propane, diving tanks, fire extinguishers and similar pressurised containers.
- Flammable liquids, including fuels, petroleum products, paints, thinners, varnishes, solvents and similar substances.
- Flammable solids, including certain matches, metallic powders, charcoal and other readily combustible materials.
- Oxidising substances and organic peroxides, including certain bleaching products, pool chemicals, dyes and peroxides.
- Poisons and toxic substances, including toxic chemicals, pesticides, certain agricultural chemicals and mercury compounds.
- Infectious or biological substances, including infectious biological material, bacteria and viruses.
- Radioactive materials, including radioactive sources and radioactive waste.
- Corrosive substances, including corrosive cleaning products, strong acids, certain batteries and mercury-containing products.
- Illegal drugs and unlawful substances, and any goods whose possession, sale or transportation is unlawful.
- Human remains and animals, where prohibited by the applicable Provider or law.
- Cash, jewellery and other excluded valuables, where excluded or restricted under the applicable Provider's conditions.
- Other dangerous or restricted goods, including magnetised materials, dry ice, certain lithium batteries and any other goods classified as dangerous, restricted or excluded by the applicable Provider.
The applicable Provider may impose additional categories, conditions, quantity limits, packaging requirements or prior written-approval requirements.
4.2 The visual prohibited-goods guide is only a guide
The Shipping and Delivery settings in your account may show icons and short descriptions to help you recognise common prohibited goods. That guide does not replace these Shipping Terms or the Provider's full prohibited- and restricted-goods rules.
If you are unsure whether an item may be shipped, do not send it until you have confirmed that the applicable Provider accepts it. An item not appearing in the visual guide does not mean that it is permitted.
4.3 Consequences of sending prohibited goods
If you submit prohibited, dangerous, unlawful or improperly declared goods, the Provider may exercise the rights available to it under law and its conditions of carriage, including refusing, stopping, abandoning, returning or otherwise dealing with the shipment.
You may also become responsible for resulting charges, losses, fines, damage, claims, storage or handling costs, legal costs or other liabilities, to the extent provided by applicable law and the Provider's conditions. The Courier Guy's published conditions contain sender responsibilities and indemnities relating to prohibited and dangerous goods.
5. Addresses, recipients and delivery
5.1 Address and recipient information
You are responsible for providing accurate collection and delivery information, including, where applicable, the recipient's name, delivery address, postal code, telephone number and email address, the collection location, locker or PUDO point, any special delivery instructions and your Store's dispatch information.
Incorrect or incomplete information can cause failed collection or delivery, delay, return, redelivery, rerouting, additional charges or storage costs. The Provider's applicable terms govern the consequences.
5.2 Delivery times are not guaranteed by VukaHustle
Any estimated collection or delivery period displayed by VukaHustle is based on information supplied by the Provider or its systems. Unless expressly stated otherwise, it is an estimate and not a guarantee by VukaHustle.
Delivery may be affected by recipient availability, incorrect addresses, operational delays, weather, road conditions, depot or locker accessibility, strikes, peak periods and other circumstances outside VukaHustle's control.
6. Quotes, charges and adjustments
6.1 Shipping quotes
Shipping quotes displayed on the Platform are obtained from the Provider through your Provider account. They are in South African Rand (ZAR), are the Provider's prices without any VukaHustle surcharge, and are based on the information available when the quote is obtained. A quote may depend on parcel dimensions and weight, origin, destination, selected service, Provider pricing, surcharges and other Provider rules. Where a quote is shown with an expiry period, a new quote may be required after it expires.
6.2 Re-rating and additional charges
A Provider may re-rate a shipment where the actual parcel or delivery differs from the information originally supplied, including differences in dimensions, weight, destination, service requirements, handling, storage or rerouting.
Any re-rating or additional charge is a matter between you and the Provider and is payable by you directly to the Provider. VukaHustle does not collect, pay or add to these charges. If you believe an adjustment arose from an error in information passed to the Provider by the Platform, please tell us at hello@vukahustle.com and we will help you raise it with the Provider.
7. Provider terms also apply
7.1 The courier is an independent service provider
VukaHustle provides the technology through which you configure, obtain, select and manage supported shipping services. The physical transportation of the parcel is performed by the applicable Provider.
7.2 Applicable Provider conditions
When you use PUDO or The Courier Guy through VukaHustle, the applicable Provider's conditions of carriage and service rules also apply to the shipment, and are incorporated into these Shipping Terms to the extent applicable to the service you use:
Provider terms contain provisions that can materially affect your rights and responsibilities, including exclusions and limitations of the Provider's liability, assumption of risk by the sender, sender indemnities, packaging and declaration responsibilities, prohibited-goods responsibilities, claims procedures and time limits, insurance or limited-liability arrangements, storage, return and disposal rights, and additional charges. You are responsible for reading the applicable Provider terms. VukaHustle's simplified interface does not cancel, replace or weaken them.
8. Loss, damage, claims and insurance
8.1 Risk of loss or damage
Courier transportation carries a risk of loss, damage, delay, failed delivery and other transport-related events. Your rights against the Provider are governed by its applicable conditions and applicable law. The Courier Guy's published terms contain significant limitations and exclusions of liability, and you should pay careful attention to the available insurance or limited-liability options and claims requirements.
8.2 Insurance and limited liability
Do not assume that a parcel is insured merely because it is shipped through VukaHustle, PUDO or The Courier Guy. Where a Provider offers insurance, limited-liability cover or another risk product, it applies only in accordance with that Provider's conditions and only where properly selected and paid for.
Where no cover has been selected, you are responsible for deciding whether you need separate insurance. VukaHustle does not insure your goods unless we expressly offer and confirm such cover in writing.
8.3 Claims
Any claim for loss, damage or another shipping event must follow the applicable Provider's procedure, evidence requirements and time limits. Some Provider claim periods are short. You should inspect returned or delivered goods promptly and report a potential claim without delay.
VukaHustle may help you pass on information relating to a claim where the Platform supports this, but does not guarantee that the Provider will accept the claim.
9. Cancellations, failures and returns
9.1 Cancelling a shipping booking
A shipping booking may not always be cancellable after it has been submitted to a Provider. Cancellation rights, charges and refund eligibility depend on the stage of the shipment, the Provider, whether collection has taken place, charges already incurred and the Provider's terms. The Platform will show the cancellation options available, where supported.
9.2 Failed collection or delivery
Where a shipment cannot be collected or delivered because of information or instructions supplied by you or your customer, additional Provider charges may arise, including redelivery, return, rerouting, storage or handling charges. The applicable Provider's terms govern those charges.
10. Customer information and privacy
To arrange delivery, VukaHustle needs to share information with the applicable Provider, which may include your Store's dispatch information, the recipient's name, delivery address, telephone number and email address, parcel information, the collection or PUDO location, shipping instructions and order or shipment references.
You authorise VukaHustle to provide the selected Provider with the information reasonably necessary for this purpose. You must ensure that customer information entered into the Platform has been obtained and is used lawfully, and that your store's Privacy Policy tells customers that their information will be shared with couriers.
VukaHustle's processing of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy. Provider processing is also subject to the Provider's own privacy and legal obligations.
11. Misuse and suspension of Provider Shipping
VukaHustle may suspend or restrict your Store's access to Provider Shipping where reasonably necessary because of suspected prohibited goods, fraudulent shipping information, repeated materially incorrect parcel declarations, abuse of Provider services, a Provider's notice that amounts owed to it remain unpaid, a security risk, unlawful activity, a serious breach of these Shipping Terms, a Provider's instruction or suspension, or a legal or regulatory requirement.
Where appropriate, we will tell you the reason for the restriction and what is needed to resolve it, unless the law, an investigation or security considerations prevent us from doing so. Suspension of Provider Shipping does not suspend your whole Store unless separate grounds exist. Collection and your own local delivery remain available unless affected by another valid restriction.
12. Changes to these Shipping Terms
These Shipping Terms are versioned. A change requires a new version, and we keep each earlier version together with a record of your Store's acceptance of it.
When a new version takes effect, we will notify you by email or through your account, and your Store must accept the new version before making new Provider Shipping bookings. Until you accept it:
- new PUDO and The Courier Guy shipments will be unavailable;
- collection remains available; and
- your own local delivery remains available.
13. Orders already committed
An order or shipment already committed under an accepted version of these Shipping Terms continues to be governed by that version. A later version does not prevent the continued fulfilment of that order merely because your Store has not yet accepted the later version. The later version applies to new Provider Shipping bookings made after it takes effect.
14. Record of acceptance
These Shipping Terms are accepted once for the whole Store. We keep a record of which Store accepted which version, the authorised user who accepted it, and the date and time of acceptance. We keep earlier acceptance records unchanged when a new version is accepted.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Shipping Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. The courts of South Africa have jurisdiction, subject to any consumer right to approach another forum that cannot lawfully be excluded. Please contact us first at hello@vukahustle.com so that we can try to resolve any concern.
