VukaHustle Cookie Policy
vukahustle.com | UlulaLabs (Pty) Ltd, Registration number 2026/107064/07 | Effective date: 3 November 2026
1. About this policy
UlulaLabs (Pty) Ltd, trading as VukaHustle ("VukaHustle", "we", "us" or "our"), uses cookies and similar technologies on vukahustle.com and its sign-in and account pages. This policy explains what they are, which ones we use, why, how long they last and how you can change your choice. It adds detail to section 8 of our Privacy Policy, which explains how we process personal information and your rights.
The optional analytics and advertising services described below are used only on vukahustle.com. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies in Merchants' stores.
2. Cookies and similar technologies in plain language
- Cookie: a small text file that a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits.
- First-party and third-party: a first-party cookie is set by the website you are visiting (for us, vukahustle.com). A third-party cookie or script belongs to another company, such as Google, Microsoft or Meta.
- Session and persistent: a session cookie ends when your browser session ends. A persistent cookie stays until it expires or you delete it.
- Local storage and session storage: storage areas in your browser that work like cookies but are not sent to our servers with every request. Local storage stays until it is cleared; session storage is cleared when you close the browser tab.
- Tags and pixels: small pieces of code from a provider that send information about your visit to that provider.
3. Your choice
We use two kinds of cookies and similar technologies: essential ones, which are always on, and optional ones, which are grouped into two separate categories, Analytics and Advertising.
Optional cookies are off until you choose, wherever you are. You can accept all, keep essential cookies only, or choose each category separately. Browsing, scrolling or closing the cookie notice is not consent, and creating an account or agreeing to our Terms and Conditions does not change your cookie choice.
4. Essential cookies and storage
Essential cookies and storage keep you signed in, protect forms against misuse and remember your cookie choice. They are needed for the website to work, so they are always on and are not part of your optional choice. They are all first-party. The items our website code sets are:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| PHP session cookie (named PHPSESSID unless our server configuration names it differently) | First-party cookie | Keeps you signed in, carries a sign-in, sign-up or checkout step from one page to the next, and holds the security token that protects our forms | Session: ends when your browser session ends, or earlier when you sign out |
| vh_measurement_receipt | First-party cookie, not readable by page scripts | Holds a random reference to the cookie choice you saved, so we can apply it on later visits. It does not contain your name or contact details. | Up to 1 year (31,536,000 seconds) from when it was last set |
| vh_consent_denied_analytics and vh_consent_denied_advertising | First-party cookies | Set only when you switch a category off. They keep that category off in this browser, even before your choice reaches our servers, and contain only the value 1. | Up to 1 year (31,536,000 seconds), or until you later allow that category and we confirm it |
| vh_consent_denial_analytics and vh_consent_denial_advertising | Local storage | A second record of a category you switched off, so it stays off if a cookie is lost | No fixed expiry: kept until you clear this website's data in your browser, or until you later allow that category and we confirm it |
| vhConsentFlash | Session storage | Shows a message about your cookie choice after the page reloads | Removed once shown, and when you close the tab |
| vhSignupRecoveryValues | Session storage | Keeps the sign-up details you typed (never your password), so you do not have to retype them if a submission needs correcting | Removed after a successful sign-up, and when you close the tab |
To check that your browser can keep your choice, our website may also write a test value and remove it straight away (vh_consent_storage_probe in local storage and the vh_consent_cookie_probe cookie, which is set for at most 30 seconds).
This list describes the essential items set by our website code. It may change as we update the website, and we will update this policy when it changes materially.
5. Optional Analytics cookies
With your permission, we use these services on vukahustle.com to understand how visitors use the website, such as which pages are helpful and where people get stuck:
- Google Analytics 4 (Google) counts visits and shows which pages and features are used. Google advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation stay off.
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft) records clicks, scrolling and mouse movement as heatmaps and session recordings on our public home, pricing, features, support and blog pages. We ask Clarity to mask forms and form fields.
On our signup form, Google Analytics 4 records only that the form was viewed and started and that an account was created. It never receives what you type. Microsoft Clarity and the Meta Pixel do not run on the signup form.
These services may process identifiers stored in cookies, device and browser information, approximate location, the pages you view and how you interact with them, including session recordings. With Analytics allowed, our own servers may also record simple page-view and button events. Information in these services is not anonymous: cookie identifiers and device details can relate to you.
The main cookies these providers describe for these services are:
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes one browser from another | Google documents a default of 2 years, which the website owner can change; browsers may shorten it |
| _ga_ followed by the measurement ID | Google Analytics 4 | Keeps track of the session | As for _ga |
| _clck | Microsoft Clarity | Keeps the Clarity user ID and preferences for this website | See Microsoft's documentation |
| _clsk | Microsoft Clarity | Connects several page views into one session recording | See Microsoft's documentation |
Providers can change their cookies. Their own pages are the current source: Google Analytics cookie usage and Microsoft Clarity cookies.
6. Optional Advertising cookies and event sharing
With your permission, we use Meta's services to measure which of our adverts lead people to visit VukaHustle, click to sign up, create an account, start a trial or pay for a plan:
- Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms) is Meta's browser code on vukahustle.com. Meta may collect browser, device, network, referrer and campaign information, and may set its own cookies in your browser, for example _fbp (a browser identifier) and _fbc (which records that you arrived from a Meta advert). Meta describes its cookies, and how long they last, in its Cookies Policy.
- Meta Conversions API (Meta Platforms) is a server-to-server connection, not a browser cookie. With Advertising allowed, our servers may send Meta events such as creating an account, starting a trial or making a first subscription payment, together with information that helps Meta match the event: this browser's user agent, the page route, Meta's _fbp and _fbc cookie values where your browser has them, and a SHA-256 hash of the email address on your VukaHustle account. Before hashing we remove surrounding spaces and convert the address to lowercase. The hash is made on our server and is never sent from your browser or given to the Meta Pixel, and we do not use Meta's automatic advanced matching. Hashing is not encryption, and a hashed email is not anonymous: Meta can match it to an account. We do not send Meta your name, phone number, identity document number, address, IP address or payment details. If you start signing up or make your first subscription payment, we keep that browser information and the hash for up to 30 days to link the event, and withdrawing your consent deletes them from our records. Advertising choices made before 3 November 2026 do not cover the hashed email; we will ask you to choose again.
7. Privacy signals and your account
If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, optional cookies stay off on vukahustle.com while that signal is on. If you are signed in and have opted your VukaHustle account out in Account > Privacy Preferences, optional cookies stay off whatever this browser chose. If we cannot check your saved choice, optional cookies stay off. In each case an earlier browser permission is not used, and you cannot switch optional cookies on until the signal or block no longer applies.
8. Changing or withdrawing your choice
You can change your choice at any time, for each category, by selecting Manage Cookies in the footer of vukahustle.com or on our Analytics Consent page.
- Withdrawing a category stops it from being used in this browser from that point on, and our website clears the first-party cookies of that category that it can reach, such as _ga, _clck or _fbp. It does not affect the other category.
- We cannot delete cookies that other websites or providers set on their own domains, or information a provider has already received; that provider's own privacy terms apply to it.
- Withdrawing does not affect processing that took place lawfully before you withdrew.
- Your choice applies to the browser and device you made it on. If you use another browser or device, clear your cookies or site data, or your saved choice expires, we will ask you again.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of vukahustle.com, such as sign-in, from working.
9. More information
Our Privacy Policy explains your rights and how to exercise them. Our Sub-processors and Service Providers page lists Google, Microsoft and Meta and where they process information.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the cookies and similar technologies we use change. We will publish the current version with its effective date and, where a change is material, provide additional notice where appropriate.
